Use an appropriate panoramic
tripod head for sperical or cylindrical panoramas, some benefits:
- Level your equipment
-Overlap images the right amount
-Organize your shoot while
avoiding uncovered areas
-Calibrate the nodal point
Mark/write down your nodal
point settings (from both sides of the slider) and ALWAYS
double check those settings before beginning a shoot
Choose as low an ISO (Sensitivity)
as possible. Noise = additional file size of end product
Do not use automatic whilte
balance. Choose an appropriate setting or calibrate
If using an SLR, choose a small
aperture for greater depth of field
Lock your speed and aperture
settings in manual mode
use remote shutter release
Be careful of: Direct sun,
soft surface for placing tripod (eg. grass), changing light
levels (eg. sunrise, sunset, moving clouds), various light
sources (eg. one room with flourescent and tungsten light)
If you will be taking images
at different settings, finish one full sphere first at locked
settings, then go back for supplimentary images
Following shows the order in
which to shoot your images
